Philip lives in Penzance, having returned to Cornwall from Oxfordshire in 2010, where he played with and conducted several orchestras and ensembles.  He is a freelance viola player who currently plays with Penzance and Truro orchestras as well as in chamber music groups.  He originally played the violin, transferring to viola when he first moved to Cornwall in 1976.
